About me
Hi, I'm Rachel. I’ve had a passion for storytelling since before I could write. (My saint of a grandmother—Florence—would jot down every word I dictated.) After pursuing writing in college, I took this passion into a decade-long career in marketing. Now, as a mother of two, I’m the owner of Inspire Publishing LLC and am fulfilling my childhood dream of being a children’s book author.

My MISSION
As the mother of a speech delayed child, I know the frustration of desperately wanting to understand what my son is trying to tell me.
After working weekly with a speech-language pathologist and reading book after book with him, I began to notice certain elements that he would gravitate toward. Great pictures and characters would keep his attention, but details such as a repetitious plot line, rhyming and repeated key words at the end of a line or phrase would make him more likely to interact. Then an idea popped into my head.
There should be a children’s book series that pairs proven speech development tactics with useful words to learn and say (not just "moo" or "beep") that hides within a story that kids will actually be interested in. And better yet—includes recommendations from a certified speech-language pathologist to help the person that’s doing the reading.
Enter Pip the Bird.
My mission is to design books that help ALL little ones—speech delayed or not—learn and vocalize words to express their wants and needs, creating both fun experiences for kids and helpful tools for parents and caregivers.
